I took my first steelhead on a dry in 1980 and half of my all-time favourite fish have come on skaters. I fish stingers and tubes to improve landing ratios and a short stinger fouls quite easily. Tubes solve that problem. You spin deer and elk so perfectly on a tube. I have not found another shop that will even try it. Your flies are perfectly balanced, rig easily, and float dependably. I skate nothing else.
